He obtained his degree in Electronic Engineering and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Sciences from the Universidad de Concepción, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. Since 2009 he has been a professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Talca, practicing in the Department of Industrial Technologies (between the years 2009-2015) and then in the Department of Electrical Engineering (since 2016 onwards). He collaborated in the creation of a career in Electrical Engineering and led the development of the Master's program in Engineering Sciences with a mention in Energy Conversion at this university. His research interests involve the generation of new knowledge in the control of power electronics converters, new topologies of power converters, methods for the improvement of efficiency in medium voltage converters and applications of these in distribution networks.
